Sleepy Hollow #2 cover by Phil Noto, out Nov 2014
Why is a secondary character in the foreground?
The writer may be a fan, but apparently not a fan of Abbie’s if this illustration reflects the story. My current issue, however, is with the illustration. The illustrator is clearly not an Abbie fan or a fan of women for that matter, since the two women together do not take up as much space as Ichabod. This cover is just wrong on so many levels that explanation is needed. Actually, explanation is demanded!
Wow, you so misunderstand art that I dont think you deserve an explanation AT ALL. Gwt a grip. You are no phil Noto and apparently know nothing about his work..
I claim no particular expertise in art appreciation, but I do understand commerce and that the idea is to get people to buy this comic. I am a fan of Sleepy Hollow which I would guess would be the core audience for buying this comic. I can’t speak for any one else, but I suspect there are others who, like me, will not even consider spending money for this until an explanation is provided about his artistic concept. His execution of his concept is not the problem, so there is no criticism of his “art”. Unfortunately, his concept does not reflect what most people consider the essence of Sleepy Hollow. That is the problem. ( And as for this comment “You are no phil Noto”, that’s just silly.)
Ask the writer. She is on tumblr. Your tantrum was ridiculous and childish.
